    Avant de devenir le chantre d'une sexualité débridée et ritualisée via des films troublants tels que "La Bête" et "Contes Immoraux" (et de s'échouer en fin de carrière sur le piètre "Emmanuelle V"), Walerian Borowczyk était en Pologne un animateur reconnu. Exilé à Paris dans les années 50, il réalise, avec l'aide de Chris Marker, ce court-métrage tout en collages qui ravira forcément les amateurs d'un certain Terry Gilliam...
