It’s been only eight months since Robert released Regenesis. We formed an incredible connection while working together, and everything flowed so effortlessly that, almost immediately, Robert suggested putting out another album early this year. Normally, composing a record of this calibre in such a short span would be quite the undertaking, but at the end of the day many of us are well aware of this artist’s innate qualities and, in that light, it seemed entirely possible.
When I first began imagining what Robert might come up with, I was convinced the next album would be far more experimental and largely unmelodic. Knowing how we tend to work around here, that direction felt likely, but as you will soon see, I couldn’t have been more mistaken.
Robert gradually began sharing fragments of what was taking shape during the creative process, and it soon became clear that the album was moving towards something profoundly melodic and deeply stirring. When I received the first demo, at the beginning of December, I couldn’t have been more excited. I started listening straight away, and I must admit that, over the course of the month, the music sank deeply into me.
Most of us tend to associate songs with specific moments in our lives: when we experience something significant, we often tie it to our perceptions of that instant, perhaps a smell, or an image.
I usually connect songs with moments that transport me somewhere I can savour, even knowing I can never truly relive them. Having this arsenal of beautiful tracks at my disposal, filled with energy and shaped with such care, allowed me to appreciate something extraordinary that happened to me earlier this year.
It is truly wonderful to have someone so special among us, crafting what might be some of the most original and moving music we can listen to today. I hope you all find joy in this record and lose yourselves in Robert’s remarkable new album.
Thank you so much for everything you’ve given us here.
