If you enjoyed JADIS 3000’s “Tabula Rasa” from the latest Kooky Nuts Pop Vol. 5 compilation, we have some very good news for you. As it turns out, it was only part of a larger five-track session, which we are now bringing to you in all its glory.
The author—whom you may already know from several more breakcore-oriented projects, such as Mr. Kindhoover, Suprême Mycozaure, or the duo Extra-Tourist, as well as one of the founders of the French label Darling Dada (yes, the one that released the very first Kooky Nuts Pop compilation)—describes this set as something between post-internet music, mutated footwork, IDM, glitch, synthetic jazz, and modern video game aesthetics. All tracks were created using corny digital racked synths such as the Roland MT-32, the Yamaha FB-01 FM synth, the Roland D-110 multitimbral synth, the Dream SAMxr, and a modified Dr. Rhythm BoSS D-110.
We hope you find plenty to explore in Xaxuxa Xaxa’s intricate complexity and adventurous spirit.
