Looking For Fael, ARTE France's new game developed by la poule noire and Swing Swing Submarine, comes with an original soundtrack composed entirely by Yann Van Der Cruyssen, known as Morusque and Nurykabe.
The score mirrors the game itself: its style shifts deliberately throughout the adventure, echoing the different moods Fael encounters along his journey.
It's woven through with recurring motifs and symmetries, musical echoes of the puzzles that punctuate the game, as if each melody were itself a riddle to solve.
A true chiptune expert, Yann comes from the world of video games, where he moves just as comfortably between creating games and composing original scores.
His credits include the music for A Game of Thrones, Aarklash Legacy and Confrontation. He has also released four EPs, forms one half of the duo "The Cheat Code," and loves sharing his passion for chip music and circuit-bending.
