   When being asked to make a mix of the Touched album I knew it was going to be a hard job it was a hard job just to pick an hour of great tunes out of 11 hours of great tunes.

   It was a hard time for me, what with my mother having cancer and seeing her having chemo, but trying to put the album together kept my mind busy and off everything else, emailing all my favorite artist and just talking to new artists about giving tracks, it was only going to be artists that were my label mates and a few artists I was friends with on line, but it really started to grow and in the end having artists like 808 State and The Future sound Of London really was mind blowing for me.

   So to my mix, I’ve started it off as all good mixes do with some beautiful ambient music from Ursa Minor and Olan Mill, I’ve really got into Olan Mill In 2013 and got all the albums so it was nice to ask them to be part of it, Its funny after talking with Alex from the band we had already met up years before at a Dead Texan Gig in Bristol.

   What can I say about Christ. He has been a great support of the Touched project and has even remixed one of my tracks for the next album out on Touched in April, he always makes really moving music and I was so happy he said yes to making a track just for the album.

   I was glad I found Shamman Delly after they sent me a message asking to give a track to the touched album, I think I picked a classic, its got some nice rare tones in this track from back in the day with a modern day twist.

   To get an exclusive Arovane track was a dream come true, I’ve been a big fan of Arovane for years so I was over the moon. A really gem of a track.

   Roel Funcken from Funckarma is another person who makes amazing forward thinking music, I think this track really stands out on the album for its raw power and energy, I was lucky enough to have Roel do a remix for me for the new album that’s next up for Touched.

   Bagpipe Whiskey is a good friend of mine and from the same town, we used to play football together and talk about music, I’m sure he was into some emo stuff at the time, but I’m glad to say he’s grow out of that now, he makes fun electronica and always happy to hear his music, he’s also a solo singer and in a hand full of local bands, a great all round guy.

   Funckarma said I could pick any track I liked and they would let me know if I could use it, I went for Kobalt as I had it on a compilation album and thought maybe not so many people would have heard it, It’s a very complex tune as is most Funckarma tracks, I’m glad it was part of the touched album.

   I’d been a fan of Tim koch’s music from the days of d’focus records so it was nice to chat with him and for him to give me the track Bloom that I would be come totally in love with, im sure when I look back at this time of my life and hear this track it will bring it all back, when I first heard it I was blown away, its so great, the beats the baseline and then that voice at the end, its just all so perfect.

   Min-Y-Llan (Plaid Remix) I never thought I would ever see that, A Plaid remix of one of my own tracks, I’ve been a Plaid fan boy every since I first heard them so to get a remix off them was one of my dreams come true, I really cant put into words and I don’t think its sunk in yet, I love it.

   To get to talk to one of your heroes is one thing but to be asked to pick a track from The Future Sound Of London’s archive is another, Brian has been so helpful with the Touched album, I hope to get a new FSOL for Touched 2 later this year.

   Tom Robert and I met in a chat room on Discogs.com a good few years back now, it was in an ambient room trying to put together an album of discogs users so that’s how we met and got chatting, a year or so later I put my first album out on is Label (ISIGTUTEOT) and we have been friends ever since, the touched album really wouldn’t worked with out Tom, he did all the sorting and mastering of all 123 tracks so no mater what ( he will always be a great friend) I really love his track too, some great Autechre style beats and lovely melody’s.

   Derren Heath is another local boy from the shire, a singer song righter, very much reminds me of some Radiohead and Thom York styling’s. It was so great to get him to give one of his songs for the touched album, if he put his mind to it he could rich the stars.

   I have meet and made some good friends from doing the Touched album and Illl & Irma are some of them, Urogi Jani aka Illl and I started talking he said he wanted to send me his new album and I could pick a track off it to use on Touched, after getting the album I fell in love with it, every track was so good so it was hard to pick just one, so two tracks were picked, I have gone for the Irma track is its just so beautiful. Urogi has since asked me to give him one of my tracks for his 2 years anniversary of the Soun records, his label.

   I really could have done a 11 hour mix as I love every single track from this monster of an album, I’m looking forward to putting Touched 2 together later this year.
