   The last mix in our series with CPH:DOX is made by the one and only Felix Kubin.

   Felix Kubin has been involved with the noise project Klangkrieg, the communist singing group Liedertafel Margot Honecker and the tetchy teenage bands Die Egozentrischen 2 and x2. Reaching from abstract Expressionism to Pop Surrealism and cassette tape punk. If isolation and social distancing is a marathon separated in different phases, there's the right music that helps to survive each one of them.    "I am not a collector. My records observe me. They lead their own life. The easiest records to find in my archive are the film scores. I only have a small bunch of them because a lot of film music is mediocre, pompous and unnecessary. The scores I put together for this collection are so strong in form and content that they can easily exist without the films. Their composers experimented with new techniques and means of expression. Some of the scores are abstract, some cross the border to foley sound. It seems that production companies and directors respected the artistic freedom of film composers more in the past. But film music can never be just a greasy background noise. Film music has to be an actor - or stay silent. " - Felix Kubin
