C'est sur cette hypothèse du complot que le jeune artiste ukrainien Fedor Alexandrovitch qui, à 4 ans, a lui-même été évacué de la "zone interdite" lors de la catastrophe, convainc le réalisateur Chad Gracia d'enquêter avec lui dans les environs de la centrale. Un passionnant ovni documentaire.

Tourné en 1964 en plein Jeux Olympiques à Tokyo, un an après son chef d’œuvre, la Jetée, ce Mystère Koumiko n’est pas si différent des autres réalisations de Marker prenant place au Japon. On y découvre un Japon insaisissable, échappant à toute catégorisation, à toute attente, comme le signale d’entrée au générique et de façon humoristique le texte de Folon sur M. et Mme Fenouillard. Mais ce qui rend ce moyen métrage particulièrement touchant est que cette déambulation chaotique dans Tokyo se fait par le prisme d’une jeune Japonaise, rencontrée par hasard : Koumiko Muraoka.

Depuis bientôt quarante ans, le gouvernement indonésien mène à l'égard du peuple papou de Nouvelle-Guinée occidentale (ex-Irian Jaya) une politique colonialiste. Ce peuple oublié de tous se bat pour la reconnaissance de son identité culturelle et politique.
Face à cette colonisation, des groupes indépendantistes se sont créés rapidemment.
Le général Bernard Mawen, un des chefs militaire de l'OPM, (Mouvement de libération de la Papouasie Occidentale) lutte donc les armes à la main pour l'indépendance de sa terre, ancienne colonie des Pays-Bas, devenue province indonésienne en 1969.
Dans les années 80 les combats entre les rebelles Papous et l'armée indonésienne ont fait fuir 12 000 personnes qui se sont réfugiées le long de la Flyriver qui sert de frontière entre l'Indonésie et la Papouasie-Nouvelle-Guinée.
Après plusieurs séjours dans cette région, le réalisateur, Damien FAURE est retourné sur place pour rencontrer ces combattants et ces réfugiés papous.

Director: André S. Labarthe well-known as co-founder and original developer of "Cinéma, de notre temps", here portrays the French writer Georges Bataille (1897-1962), whose work ventures, at the same time, into the fields of literature, anthropology, philosophy, economy, sociology and history of art.
Initially broadcasted on 30 April 1997, the film contains the interviews with Pierre Klossowski and Jacques Pimpanneau. The French title could be translated as "As-Far-as-The-Eye-Can-See (At the Limit of Vision)", which may well constitute a literary reference to the Bataille's first book, "Story of the Eye". -

À l'occasion des 70 ans du tireur le plus rapide du Far West, une incursion alerte dans l'univers inventé par le dessinateur Morris, qui transposa avec humour le mythe américain dans l'imaginaire européen.
Voilà soixante-dix ans que Lucky Luke tire plus vite que son ombre et arrive à point nommé pour régler les problèmes qui obscurcissent l'horizon de l'Ouest américain. Héros d'albums vendus à 300 millions d'exemplaires, ce personnage lisse – miroir du lecteur, il n'a ni passé ni états d'âme – incarne à jamais le Far West à l'européenne. L'Ouest américain a il est vrai fait rêver la génération d'avant la conquête spatiale, à laquelle appartient le jeune Maurice De Bevere, le futur Morris. Grandi dans les mornes plaines agricoles de la Belgique, l'adolescent a besoin d'évasion et se jette sur les premiers dessins animés et les westerns. Plus tard, une parenthèse new-yorkaise aidera le dessinateur à confronter son fantasme de l'Amérique à la réalité.
Sens de la mise en scène
Aux États-Unis, il rencontrera René Goscinny avec qui une collaboration fructueuse s'enclenchera à leur retour en Europe. Lucky Luke prend son envol. Deux niveaux de lecture – pour enfants et adultes – apparaissent et un traitement subtil des sombres réalités de la vie (prostitution, alcoolisme…) permet de contourner les règles strictes qui encadrent les publications pour la jeunesse.
Dégainant avec autant de vivacité que Lucky Luke, ce documentaire navigue avec humour dans son univers et ses influences, à l'aide d'archives dans lesquelles Morris, tiré à quatre épingles, se raconte, et d'extraits de films et de planches. Épurée, et elle aussi impeccable, l'esthétique du dessinateur se dévoile : trait sûr, pop art avant l'heure, sens de la mise en scène. Historiens et auteurs de BD décryptent ce délectable pan de la BD, notamment Jul et Achdé, qui reprennent le flambeau et ont audacieusement propulsé le cow-boy dans la communauté juive new-yorkaise.

La vie a un rythme, est en mouvement constant. Le mot pour le rythme (des tribus malinké) est Foli. C'est un mot qui englobe beaucoup plus de tambours, la danse ou le son. Il se trouve dans chaque partie de la vie quotidienne. Ce film n'est pas seulement entendre et sentir le rythme, voit aussi. Il est un extraordinaire mélange de l'image et du son qui nourrit les sens et nous rappelle à tous combien essentielle.

Obsessed with perspective, geometry, and pattern (Escher described tessellation as “a real mania to which I have become addicted”), his images have, by the count of mathematician and Escher scholar Doris Schattschneider, led so far to eleven separate strands of mathematical and scientific research.
The twenty-minute Adventures in Perception, originally commissioned by the Netherlands’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs, offers in its first half a meditation on the mesmerizing, often impossible world Escher had created with his art to date. Its second half captures Escher in the last years of his life, still at work in his Laren, North Holland studio. It even shows him printing one of the three titular serpents, threaded through a set of elaborately interlocking circles, of his very last print Snakes. He never actually finished Snakes, whose patterns would have continued on to the effect of infinity, and even says here of his officially complete works that none succeed, “because it’s the dream I tried for that can’t be realized.”

Lao Yang and Eddy both work for a company called CREC (Chinese Railway Engineering Company). They have just set up camp near the remote mining town of Kolwezi in the Katanga province of the RDC. The goal of the company is to redo the road - covering 300km - that connects Kolwezi with the capital of the province Lubumbashi. Lao Yang is head of logistics of the group. He is responsible for the equipment, building materials and food (mainly chickens) to arrive in the isolated Chinese prefab camp. The Congolese government was supposed to deliver these things but so far the team hasn't received anything. With Eddy (a Congolese man who speaks Mandarin fluently) as an intermediate, Lao Yang is forced to leave the camp and deal with local Congolese entrepreneurs, because without the construction materials the road works will cease. What follows is an endless, harsh, but absurdly funny roller coaster of negotiations and misunderstandings, as Lao Yan learns about the Congolese way of making deals.

Fela Kuti is to African music what Bob Marley is to reggae: its prophet. All contemporary forms of black music, from funk to electronic, owe something to the irresistible groove of the Afrobeat sound that he created. He recorded more than 60 albums and spent a lifetime fighting against political corruption in his homeland of Nigeria, where the people affectionately called him their "Black President."
Shot in Lagos at the peak of his career in 1982, this documentary contains interviews with Fela detailing his thoughts on politics, Pan-Africanism, music and religion, alongside unpublished versions of songs like ITT, Army Arrangement and Power Show.

The New Sound of Music is a fascinating BBC historical documentary from the year 1979. It charts the development of recorded music from the first barrel organs, pianolas, the phonograph, the magnetic tape recorder and onto the concepts of musique concrete and electronic music development with voltage-controlled oscillators making up the analogue synthesizers of the day. EMS Synthesizers and equipment are a heavily featured technology resource in this film, with the show's host, Michael Rodd, demonstrating the EMS VCS3 synthesizer and it's waveform output. Other EMS products include the incredible Synthi 100 modular console system, the EMS AKS, the Poly Synthi and the EMS Vocoder. Most of the location shots are filmed within the BBC's Radiophonic Workshop studios as they were in 1979. Malcolm Clarke demonstrates the Synthi 100, also known as the "Delaware", Michael Rodd demonstrates musique concrete by tape splicing and manipulation and Paddy Kingsland demonstrates tape recorder delay techniques (also known as "Frippertronics"). The Yamaha CS-80 analogue synthesizer is demonstrated by both Peter Howell and Roger Limb. The EMS Vocoder is also expertly put to use by Peter Howell on his classic "Greenwich Chorus" for the television series "The Body in Question". Dick Mills works on sound effects for Doctor Who using a VCS3 unit, and Elizabeth Parker uses bubble sounds to create music for an academic film on particle physics. Peter Zinovieff is featured using his computer music studio and DEC PDP8 computer to produce electronic variations on classic vintage scores. David Vorhaus is featured using his invention, the MANIAC (Multiphasic ANalog Inter-Active Chromataphonic (sequencer)), and playing his other invention, the Kaleidophon -- which uses lengths of magnetic tape as velocity-sensitive ribbon controllers. The New Sound of Music is a fascinating insight into the birth of the world of recorded and electronic music and features some very classic British analogue synthesizers creating the electronic sounds in this film. The prime location for these demonstrations is the BBC Radiophonic Workshop where much creativity and invention took place during the period the workshop was in operation in the latter part of the twentieth century. Electronic music today is used everywhere, and many musicians gain inspiration from the past, as well as delving into the realms of sonic structures and theories made possible by the widespread use of computers to manipulate sounds for the creation of all kinds of musical forms.

Between 1947 and 1954, avant-garde dancer and experimental filmmaker Maya Deren visited Haiti and immersed herself in vodou. Supported with a Guggenheim Fellowship grant, Deren intended to study and film the trance dancing of vodou ceremony. Ultimately, Deren became an active participant in the rituals. She documented her experiences in the 1953 book Divine Horsemen: The Voodoo (Living) Gods of Haiti and the footage that resulted in the entrancing 1981 film above, completed two decades after Deren's death by her third husband and his wife.

Dans le cadre d’une enquête en deux parties, l’Unité des enquêtes d’Al Jazeera s’est mise à découvert pour révéler l’extrême droite française et révéler des liens secrets entre des extrémistes violents et l’un des plus grands partis politiques français. Marine Le Pen a récemment changé le nom du Front national dans le cadre des efforts visant à réformer l’image du parti et à le rendre plus acceptable pour les électeurs français. Cependant, un journaliste d’Al Jazeera découvre des liens étroits entre les responsables politiques du parti de Le Pen et Generation Identity (GI), un mouvement de jeunesse d’extrême droite voué à l’expulsion des musulmans d’Europe. Les militants du GI sont secrètement filmés en train de passer à tabac racistes et de saluer les nazis. Aurélien Verhassel, dirigeant de la branche GI de la ville française de Lille, a des convictions pour violence mais recrute toujours des militants d'extrême droite pour occuper des postes politiques pour le parti de Le Pen. Les membres élus du parti de Le Pen au Parlement européen sont également surpris en train de déclarer leur soutien à Generation Identity et à sa politique anti-musulmane.

est un documentaire retraçant l’histoire du groupe, la composition du groupe et les différents membres de l’orchestre. Il fait suite au documentaire “Nos tendres années” (lien vidéo ; lien album) qui avait un parti pris esthétique.
Cette fois-ci les death by horsecock, comme ils se plaisent à s’appeler, adoptent un format documentaire traditionnel renouant avec les grands classiques du genre. Ils nous dévoilent les secrets du succès et la notoriété du groupe durant ses onze tendres années. Séquences émotion, musicale, culinaire, vie quotidienne, dispute et réconciliation, autant d’éléments qui font de ce documentaire un must-have. -
